Pocket Informant Square Icon Set (Now with VGA icons)
Designed by Sebastian - a long time Pocket Informant Beta tester, this icon set includes over 440 square style QVGA and over 250 VGA icons. To support Pocket Informant's clear, intuitive style an icon set must offer similar features to maintain consistency. The Square Icon Set for Pocket Informant, containing over 440 QVGA and over 250 VGA icons offer you just that.
Due to its unique, square style it maintains clarity and consistency. The icons, being 12 x 12 pixels for QVGA and 18 x18 or 24 x 24 pixels respectively for VGA, match the font size within Pocket Informant so that they do not interfere visually with the layout. The two sizes for VGA icons (18 x 18 and 24 x 24 pixels) offer you the opportunity to adapt the icon usage to the Pocket Informant layout you are using on your VGA-PocketPC. Using large fonts implies the usage of the larger icons - using a compromise between size and amount of information that is shown (usually smaller font size) implies to use the smaller VGA icons.
The designer offers you to send him requests for VGA icons in order to fulfil your needs and to help enlarging the number of VGA icons. So as an owner of this icon set feel free to contact him.
You will benefit from Square Icons especially when using them with coloured backgrounds within Pocket Informant or indeed any other application associated with Pocket Informant (e.g. PIToday - http://www.pitoday.de.vu). Pocket Informant often uses a coloured background to indicate certain things like task priorities. You may notice that most icons are hard to recognise when used on a coloured background. The Square Icon Set solves this problem with its unique style. No Square Icon interferes with its background - it always remains completely recognisable.
Although, perhaps obviously, the main aspect of the Square Icons is the square layout, this package also offers you the ability to install a transparent version of the QVGA icons. These are equal in size (12 x12 pixels) and central image but without a border surrounding them. Since almost all icons have been created by "one and the same hand", the style between the two sets is consistent too.
