  Jane Eyre by C. Bronte - Jane Eyre is the bittersweet story of the life of a strong, passionate young woman, who survives a wretched childhood to become a governess and falls deeply in love with her troubled but compelling employer, Mr. Rochester.

In August of 1846 Charlotte began work on Jane Eyre. Though it was published in 1847 the novel success was clear in 1848.
