Development group NewOlds has finally released POLLO POLLO!, its first full PlayStation Portable (PSP) homebrew video game. We should say that expectations were rather high on this one as it was highly publicized, not to mention its very alluring premise. To those not aware, it is actually a tribute to Japanese classic puzzle game Puyo Puyo.
One good thing about POLLO POLLO! is that the homebrew title has a lot of gameplay modes. The story mode, for one, lets players choose a character from the three chickens. The plot of develops as players compete against the CPU in a series of fights. Once you've completed the story, a new character will be unlocked.
The objective of the Pollomania mode, on the other hand, is to get as many points as you could. During gameplay, the columsn will be doubled and you are just competing against yourself. Take note that Pollomania can aonly be played once the story mode has been finished.
If you're going to play this homebrew on a PSP with FW 1.5, all you have to do is copy the PSP folder into your unit. If you're using a different firmware (1.0, 2.0, 3.xSE), just copy EBOOT.PBP from 1.0 folder to your PSP/GAME/POLLOPOLLO directory. In case you want to try this on a widerscreen, hence your PC, you could copy Win Folder contents to your PSPGAMEPOLLOPOLLO directory so you can play directly from your memory stick.
All other details, including controls, for POLLO POLLO! can be found in the accompanying Readme file.
