Rexx for Palm OS and Rexxlets - Rexx for Palm OS from Jaxo, Inc., is an implementation of the Rexx scripting language that brings "personal programming" to Palm handhelds, as well as the ability to hyperlink and glue Palm OS applications and databases to one another through Rexxlets, "programmable DAs" that allow you to instantly cross-link information and pop-up utilities without leaving the current application! Rexx is an ANSI standard programming language, with many advantages, originally invented in 1979 by Mike Cowlishaw of the IBM UK Laboratories (who is not associated with this software).
NOTE that you cannot yet build forms-based GUI applications with Rexx for Palm OS, but you can access IO such as the console, PDBs, TCP/IP, beaming, and sound.
The shareware fee is only intended for a developer's license if you want to use Rexx to develop and commercialize your own Rexx scripts and Rexxlets. The Rexx runtime is free. The runtime and IDE are one in the same, and it is not license-protected in any way. The developer's license fee is on a trust-only basis.
