Boxhead: PSP Style version 1.00Zombie blasting action - it's a tried and true theme, and it's one developer SG57 is trying out with the release of Boxhead: PSP Style version 1.00. As its name implies, this homebrew is a clone of the highly popular Boxhead: The Zombie Wars flash game developed by Sean Cooper.
It's a top-down shooter where your goal is stay alive while you blast countless hordes of the undead. While the goal's straightforward, SG57 also include some interesting features that should keep you perked up even as you blast away (quoting the readme):
* Features:
o 8 Different Weapons
o 90+ Weapon Upgrades
o 2 Types of Enemies
o 3 huge maps each with their own highscore
o 3 Difficulties, each harder then the last
o Enable or Disable Devils (drastically makes game easier)
o Play your own MP3s and Atrac Files right from your /MUSIC/ or /PSP/MUSIC/ folders
o Interactive Menu - walk to your destination
o Built-In Game Guide with controls, etc.
o Good 'stereo' audio experience (explosions happen left of you , you'll hear them left of you out of the left speaker respectively, with all the action going on it is hard to forget about)
* Planned features for version 1.5:
o Ad-Hoc multiplayer
o More Enemies
o New Weapons
o 'Closet' feature (change the theme of the game)
o More
SG57 created Boxhead: PSP Style using the C++ programming language, and OSlib. Full details regarding its controls and features are available via the file bundle's readme.
