Homebrew Developer Art has come out with a new version of Audio Mechanica, the digital audio recorder for the PSP. This latest version is a recompilation of the previous version which let the program run at a lower clock speed at 133/133/1 to save on battery power.
Here are notes from Art from his forum post and the changelog for the application for Audio Mechanica v6e:
* Recompiled with the PSP clock still running 133/133/1.
* This one has Mikmod left in it.
* Hopefully works on the later firmwares.
Note that the program currently only works for PSP Phats. Please go through the readme for more details and program operation instructions.

Mp3Me Lib Mp3Me Lib
from Zack:
Hey.
During the development of my game I wanted to be able to playback MP3's using the PSP's media engine processor. Knowing that there existed a few libs already I decided to try and use one rather than reinventing the wheel.
The best and most powerful one that I saw seemed to be Sakya's example from LightMP3
DIR-to-XML DIR-to-XML
The MP3 streaming happy continues to flow, thanks do homebrew developer bravekn1ght and his DIR-to-XML Tool for the PSP. Pretty much a homebrew program that enables PSP users to make their MP3 collections into an RSS/XML feed for PC-to-PSP MP3 streaming action, DIR-to-XML tool is certainly an application to be had if you've got your own customized library
PSP Soundboard PSP Soundboard
from corytheidiot1:
I got bored and wanted to make a little app that would allow people to make soundboards for the PSP. It is not the best coding I have done, but it gets the job done.
Lua player .20 is included, so you need a phat, or you can get a 3.xx compatible version of lua player.
Note:
You can not stop the sounds from playing
