Homebrew developer kingsebo dropped by QJ.NET PSP Development Forum and released a new program called MUX which means "Multiplex Your Update Folder." Note that while the program is currently in version 2, this is actually the first public release for it.
So what does MUX really do? According to kingsebo, this program comes very handy for PlayStation Portable owners who need more than one PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder. Here are the coder's various explanations lifted from our forum:
* You are able to use more then 1 UPDATE on your PSP without filer or iR shell.
* You have 9 Update_X folders and a program (MUX20) to copy all files in the UPDATE_X Folder to the normal GAME/UPDATE Folder.
* I didn't like it after downgrading a PSP to 3.71M33-2 to delete UPDATE folder and copy the M33-4 Update to it. Then run m33-4. After this I have to connect my PSP to PC and make the same for Kernel 1.5 AddOn V2 etc.
* So when a friend came to me with a bricked PSP, I am able to make 371M33-2 with Pandora, and install ALL the Updates without filer / iR Shell or PC.
* It makes easier, and I have all UPDATE with me.
This clearly is a very useful tool for the PSP homebrew community. MUX v2.0 has a Readme.txt file that will provide you with an installation guide. The only problem with it is that it was written in German.
