Homebrew developer Durka Durka Mahn dropped by QJ.NET PSP Development Forum and released a new game called Breaker+. It is, according to the coder, a combination of games Breakout and Pong as well as a little bit of input from him.
Just like most games, the goal of Breaker+ is to have players attain the highest possible score. You can do this by hitting the blocks using the bumper. THe blocks or bricks respawn with a corresponding time limit beneath them.
The prize you get for hitting the blocks is the remaining time times your multiplier. This aspect of the game, furthermore, can be raised by continuously hitting bricks. This goes back to 1 whenever you lose life. Durka Durka Mahn explained its other features:
By hitting the left trigger, you will have a few seconds where the ball will slow down and you can aim your bumper in the time given. Once the bar on the right side of the screen is depleted, you will have to wait for it to recharge.
If the ball goes behind the bumper, you will lose a life and the ball will reset. If you lose all five lives, you will have game over, and it will save your high score if it is higher than your best high score.
All in all, Breaker+ is looking quite solid and is actually an excellent game given that it's just on its initial build and the coder's first ever C++ game for the Sony handheld.
