Homebrew developer brethren dropped by QJ.Net PSP Forum today and informed us about a proof-of-concept application allowing becus25's custom firmwares to be run using DevHook. The developer added that it would be possible as well to run the said firmwares from the memory stick provided that some part of the codes will be altered.
Now, why do you think he did this? As all of you are aware, becus25 has been providing the PSP community with an alternative custom firmware. brethren believes in this firmware and believes that more people should see it. Running becus25's creation from the memory stick, needless to say, will reduce the risk of bricking.
Anyway, brethren shared that what should be done is re-write the code in the "recovery.elf" to alter and access the files in the DevHook folder instead from the flash0 and change the WiFi-up autobooting of DevHook to something like IR Shell.
Custom Firmware for DevHook has its own Readme file so please browse through that first before using the program on your unit.
