Old-school homebrew apps don't get any more ancient than CrazyC's DOSBox application for the PlayStation Portable. The latest version of this DOS emulator program fits in some bugfixes from the previous version of the app, as well as added a more flexible memory allocation to its accompanying conf file.
Other updates in version 0.71 Build 29.01.2008 include:
*Fixed most of the bugs that I could find in the 3.x build of dosbox (at least with the fat psp).
*Now you should be able to exit and set any about of memory in the conf file as long as it can be allocated with malloc.
*With a pair of prx's it has the same functionality as the 1.5 build. Neither prx is necessary to run the program.
This new build released by the developer was confirmed to work for CFW 3.xx, including the newly released 3.80 M33 by Dark AleX. For those of you who want to discuss the app with the author, you can click on the Via link below and talk about the latest version of DOSBox at the PS2dev forums.
