Saulotmalo, who've seen a lot of people freak out at having a pixel stuck in the PSP screen, has released a homebrew app just for that. Screen Repair Set (SRS) v1.0, actually a three apps-in-one set, is a tool that tests PSP screens and tries to repair stuck pixels by flashing dfferent colors.
Tool 1: This tool shows diferents colors to test if you have any stuck pixel. To test the screen from the main menu press x. To switch between screens, press the cross button.
Tool 2: This tool counts stuck pixels. You can increase the count of stuck pixels by pressing the circle button or decrease it by pressing the square button. To hide the screen counter, press the L button. To reveal the counter, press the R button.
Tool 3: This tool repairs the screen by flashing a lot of colors quickly. Saulotmalo says, "please do not look at the screen while it is active because it could put you in state of of trance from which you can never recover!" Okay we made up the part about the trance but the developer did say not to look at the flashing screen (bet many of you will, anyway.)
To start flashing your PSP screen, press the triangle button from the main menu. Leave it running for at least an hour. To return to the main menu press the start button.
We always say reading the readme file before installing anything is the smart thing to do. For good reasons. For example, if you don't read the readme text for Screen Repair Set (SRS) v1.0, you will miss Saulotmalo's disclaimer - the one where he says he is not responsible of any harm his program might do to your PSP.
