Xfacter is back, and he's brought the third release of Battlegrounds with him. Version 0.5 right here promises to be "MUCH more complete than the first two releases."
So, what to expect in this version? For one, there's now a full-on story mode as well as a deathmatch mode. The graphics have also been updated, albeit only slightly, apart from the addition to the new graphics for story mode. We gotta tell you, the graphics do look swell. Apart from that, there's a special unlockable deathmatch waiting for you at the end of the storymode.
As for the user saving/loading and music playback, Xfacter has decided to remove it. He reasons that autosaves are easier to manage than in-game saves and music playback can be easily accomplished with iRShell.
Anyway, you can check out some more info on the game in the Read me file that in the download. Now, as for the installation, for most users, you just have to copy the Battlegrounds directory to your GAME folder. But if you're using 1.5, you'd have to Kxploit it yourself. For our unit, we used the PSP Brew to install the game.
Anyway, we won't be keeping you much longer. You can download the file right here, and you can join the discussion as well over at our forums. Again, be sure to check out the Read me, lest you overlook some very important notice, aight?

Description
"This is a Gauntlet-style game that was originally commercial back in the mid-nintys and has since been GPLed, and ported to SDL. Since it was a DOS game originally, it was pretty straight forward to make it perform and fit in the PSP. Thanks to the great coders from openglad for a solid base to build on
