Doom is probably one of the few titles that has been ported many times by the ever hardworking homebrew coders we have around. Just like today, QJ.NET reader CJ sent us word regarding another iteration from Chilly Willy. The coder gave this explanation for this release:
Here's my conversion of ADoomPPC, one of the better DOOM conversions (for the Amiga). It's got a simple, decent gui that runs before you start the game which allows you to set most of the major DOOM settings. On the Slim PSP, it supports TV out. This arc includes the source, two sets of MIDI instruments and the shareware WAD file.
This really is a good development for the homebrew scene because most consider Doom as one of the forerunners of the FPS genre. Chilly Willy added that while this was created on PSP Slim & lite running on CFW 3.71 M33-2, it has also been tested on PSP Fat running on CFW 3.52 M33-4.
For those of you who are wondering, Chilly Willy's Doom for the PSP doesn't work with networking and cheats.
