Yoyomacy from our forums has just unveiled his latest PSP project and amongst all the custom firmwares, PSX emulator related applications and media managers you may have forgotten what homebrew is best for...games. This release called 'Smack' for the PSP follows a ghetto cop trying to stop drug and weapon dealers by simply shoot everything in his path to reach the low rider before his health bar reachers zero. As you can tell by the description and the hi-resolution graphics Smack is a proper homebrew game set to remind you just what your PSP is for.
This game is just like any other side scrollers you have played and the trick is just to run, shoot and avoid enemy fire. You might be playing a cop in this game but the streets are no place for a shiny badge and handcuffs - you need to talk with your weapon which by the look of it resembles an M4 Rifle. The graphics on this game are crisp and dignified, and Yoyomacy would like to Xodiac for sprites and backgrounds and madsoul for a background.
