Team C+D (Create + Destroy) has done it once again and released a firmware decrypter for Sony's latest firmware, 3.30, which was just released the other day! Team C+D has been constantly at each new firmware that is distrubted so it isn't too long after the release of a firmware that we find a decrypter for it. Sometimes even managing to put out a decrypter for a new firmware on the day that it is released!
A decrypter, for those who are not aware, allows a said firmware to be used in homebrew applications that need to emulate it in some fashion. Such an application is Devhook, a firmware emulator that requires decrypted firmware in order for emulation of it. We can also look forward to Dark_Alex's famed custom firmware where he transforms Sony's firmware into our own, homebrew-enabled PSP which also touts full PSX support. Both are killer creations and both loved by the community, so all we can do now is wait and see what will come out of the newly decrypted firmware.
