Homebrew developer poisonhzkj has released an update for the Custom XMB (CXMB) plugin. In case some of you missed our earlier post on this piece of homebrew, CXMB lets PSP users use custom RCOs from the PSP's memory stick instead of its flash0.
CXMB is made for custom firmware 3.40 OE. The download doesn't include a readme file, so here are the installation instructions from poisonhzkj's site: To use CXMB, you must activate it as the first plugin in vsh.txt. You can also choose to flash it to flash0:/kn and add /kd/cxmb.prx after /kd/vshctrl.prx in flash0:/kn/pspbtcnf.txt.
Flashing it will also eradicate chances of getting a blue screen of death if you accidentally shut down your PSP in game mode and start it up without having the memory stick inserted. If you choose not to flash it and run into this problem, you can shut down your PSP, insert your memory stick and reboot. You can also just press the Circle button to fix your registry.
The download below also contains the Calabi Spheres XMB icon theme. For usage instructions, we recommend going to poisonhzkj's site at http://www.2alien.info/2007/06/cxmb.html. You should also check out |-Anubis-|'s thread on QJ.NET's PSP Development forums (http://forums.qj.net/f-psp-homebrew-discussion-12/t-custom-xmb-plugin-flashless-xmb-customization-110000.html) for more info on CXMB.
