Following up on our report yesterday on the Music prx plugin, here's another treat for 3.90 CFW-supporting Sony PlayStation Portable (and for 3.80 CFW users too). Homebrew developer zx-81 has released PSPIRC version 1.1.5. If you haven't been taking note of the previous builds, the homebrew is a basic internet relay chat (IRC) client for your PSP.
That's right you can have real-time online correspondence with PSPIRC version 1.1.5. Now if you were wondering how you would be typing those letters, PSP IRC version 1.1.5 comes with IR keyboard support. Here are the latest changes straight from dev zx-81:
* Fix IR keyboard issue with fw >= 3.80 for FAT PSP
* It has been tested sucessufully tested on:
o SLIM 3.90-m33 (thanks to Greg from psp-hacks)
o FAT 3.90-m33
o FAT 1.5 (addon for 3.90-m33)
* Fix issue with virtual keyboard (speed)
For your reference, we've included the source code. Likewise, if you want to have more information on how to install and use PSPIRC version 1.1.5, download the file which suits your PSP. Are you supporting the 1.5 kernel or the 3.x custom firmware? Afterwards, access the readme inside. Please check it before doing anything. Safety first!
