FlacPlay (early beta) - improved filesize and memo
PSP homebrew developer jsharrad dropped by the QJ.NET development forums to release an improved version of FlacPlay, the iR shell plugin that plays FLAC audio files on the Sony PlayStation Portable. FlacPlay's filesize is now 70% smaller, and uses less memory.
For those who haven't grabbed FlacPlay the first time it came around, this PSP application is in early beta stages so don't be surprised by the lack of any user interface. It's simple enough to use - just use the directional buttons on your PSP to select a song, then press X to play. O will stop playback and lead you back to iR Shell according to jsharrad.
FLAC, or Free Lossless Audio Codec, is an audio format for meticulous meticulous music lovers because it provides better quality than MP3. FlacPlay will play FLAC files on your PSP if you're running iR Shell on 3.xx or 1.50 kernels.
