If you want an MP3 player that is as your PSP, then xart's Melody v0.9 is just up your alley. This stand-alone player from Choice Beta 1.5 looks really pretty with its transparent menus and easy to use interface.
This is an early release of the program and further improvements are on the way. The developer gave word that Melody v1.0 will have shuffle & repeat playback, a feature this release lacks. So far the program on supports ID3v3 PNG Cover Art, support for ID3v2 and ID3v4 will be added eventually.
If you're going to be adding in the cover art, take note that it has to be in a none interlaced png format, with a maximum size of 144x144. If you insist on adding a picture larger than this, it will be reduced to 144x144. Also note that there will be a slight slowdown due to the loading of the larger pic when scrolling.
All in all, this is a solid effort from the developer and one that makes listening to MP3s on the PSP a tad more enjoyable. So download the application and try it out, you might be pleasantly surprised.
