Interested in tinkering with the recording capabilities of your PSP? Homebrew developer bigboss has just released the Nanodesktop Audio Recorder, an offshoot of his Nanodesktop software development kit. In order for it to record audio fluxes, Nanodesktop Audio Recorder utilizes the microphone included with the GoCam accessory.
Nanodesktop Audio Recorder uses the SDK's newest HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer), which hasn't been released yet but will be in the very near future. But if you're not only interested in recording sound, here's something that you should know: the new HAL will also include routines needed to access the microphone.
You can grab the application from the download link below, but it will also be included in the next release of Nanodesktop 6 if you're willing to hold out. Do take note that you have to be experienced with installing EBOOT files, since there's no readme file included in the download. But if you have any concerns or suggestions, do drop by the thread linked below to post your comments or questions.

Hey.
During the development of my game I wanted to be able to playback MP3's using the PSP's media engine processor. Knowing that there existed a few libs already I decided to try and use one rather than reinventing the wheel.
The best and most powerful one that I saw seemed to be Sakya's example from LightMP3
