Orbid v2 - Long time users of the homebrew creation Orbid, you will be happy to know that coder Slasher from Team Duck has updated the game and entered it at the current Neo Flash Spring Coding Competition.
For those who've just seen or heard about this game now, let us give you a brief introduction. Orbid is reminiscent of the game flOw, with players taking on the role of a a small orb struggling to survive.
In order to do this, players must eat the smaller orange orbs to gain points. Take note that you must avoid anything larger than you or the process will be reverse and your orb will be their dinner. Slasher listed some of its game modes:
Normal Mode: Level based, in which each level will become increasingly harder for you to survive.
* Survival Mode: Survival of the fittest. Survive for as long as possible before you become the enemies dinner.
* Time Mode: Beat the clock. Eat as many helpless orange orbs as possible. For each one you eat, your timer will +1; and for each set of orbs you eat, you'll recieve a 15 to 20+ random amount of time.
* Mine Mode: Avoid the mines! Your goal is to eat the helpless small orb each round while avoiding the various scattered mines throughout the map.
* Dodge Mode: Avoid the roaming orbs! Try to survive for as long as possible.
* Multiplayer Mode:
o For playing online against a friend.
o It uses netlib(http://youresam.team-duck.com/netlib/), so you must set up a netlib server in order to use it. Just change the ip.txt in the data folder to the ip of the server you want to connect to.
Slasher added that the multiplayer mode is still in its early beta stage. As such, the coder cautioned that it may not always work. If you are interested, be sure to read first the documentation that comes with Orbid v2 to know about its controls and more.
