Plus! Labyrinth, Plus! HyberBowl, Super Monkey Ball, or Balance Balls - call it as you see it, but JustChris' new demo for Roll 'Em Out opens up tons of possible new games for other homebrew developers tuned in to the ball-balancing vibe. Roll 'Em Out was just recently revealed at QJ.NET's forums by JustChris, together with a playable demo.
Though the demo is feature rich and reflects much attention to collision detection, it is still an early form, and developer JustChris, known here at QJ.NET for PSPMyAdmin, for may have more in store for further builds of Roll 'Em Out. The homebrew coder is currently planning a level editor soon to avoid having to code in the level polygons yourself, though it will be PC-based - along with a PC version of the game to boot.
We're hoping that the level editor will also incorporate a mechanism to import your own textures for the ball and the level, allowing full personal customization experiences. But that could just be this blogger's ambition to create a 60s-themed level with psychedelic neons, traversed by a dazzling disco ball. Yahtzee!
There's no readme included in the archive and no particular firmware support claimed, so just copy the game's directory to the GAME folder under the PSP directory. It should work for the original PlayStation Portable, though we're also highly optimistic about its functionality for the PSP Slim as well.
