Update: Just a few hours after the release of the first public build, FreePlay has told me that he has updated FileAssistant. Turns out, he's correct. The new version allows you to browse your UMDs and he has also got the battery meter working. Plus, while talking to him, he also revealed that he has polished the dialogs since they were a bit problematic.
One of the must-have pieces of homebrew, FileAssistant, has been ported to the TIFF Exploit by Freeplay. Although it's one of the older versions (v0.05), this was the only version whose source FreePlay could find. The original version was coded by Lin J.R, in case anyone's curious.
While not being as slick and shiny as the newer versions, it did the job, and wow! While talking to FreePlay, he revealed that the speed of this version is amazing. He actually had to slow down the dialogs, just to make them readable. Here's a few more screenshots in case you want to check out the GUI
