Getting Booster's DevHook 0.50 on your PSP to play 2.8x games was the present in the stocking that blew everyone's chimneys away. But let's just say that old presents should not be thrown away, too. We're talking about older versions of DevHook here, BTW. One potential reason is because the older DevHooks have better compatibility with older PSP games.
Makes sense. Hence, wraggster of DCEmu announces dodswm's hex-edited DevHook for 2.71, and DevHooks 0.45 and 0.46. With these, PSP owners can boot 0.50 off the Stick, and (for example) DevHook for Dark_Alex's 2.71 SE-C off the flash. One even has THREE DevHooks happily playing in his PSP. Backwards compatibility in a flash - literally, which means you might want to be careful going about with this. Here's what dodswm has to say about that process:
Note: When installing the firmware onto your mem stick, DO NOT overwrite any of the files from this package, or it will not work. Just do a normal devhook install, and the devhook folder on the mem stick root is "HD" not "DH".
The complete package at the download link below includes the hex-edited DevHooks for 2.71, 0.45, and 0.46, PLUS a copy of Chunglam's DevHook Launcher/VSHEX Mod 1.65c that has been modified to use the "LM" folder on the Memory Stick root, what with all these modded DevHooks to load and all. Let's just hope everyone can keep all these numbers sorted out.
(BTW, the single DL link below contains all FOUR file sets in individual ZIP files. Like we said: hope you can keep the numbers sorted out. The individual ZIP file names are your friend in this case.)
