With the release of custom firmwares galore and the wealth of new homebrew applications out there which access the flash memory, PSP customization has never been easier, and for that reason a new trend has been born. Ordinary PSP backgrounds are now just plain boring, and with Wave editor applications you can pretty much do what you want to your XMB.
The PSP 01-12.bmp Split/Merge application by xmOD runs on Windows PC's and as the title infers, allows you to split the 01-12.bmp from your PSP into 12 seperate images. For those who don't know what the 01-12.bmp is, it's the file which contains all the default backgrounds for your PSP. When the files have been split you can then modify each of the 12 backgrounds to your hearts content, opening up the door to further XMB customization.
You can then re-merge the files back into the 01-12.bmp file ready for flashing to your PSP. One problem with previous versions was that not all files would show up because of the file size, but version 1.3 adds file padding support, allowing you to 'pad' your images up to6174 bytes so that all images will be shown. Hi-resolution images cannot be displayed at the moment.
Make sure you read the readme before using this application, and please note that the Microsoft .NET framework 2.0 is required to run this application!
