  PSPSSH

Developer zx81 is a bit busy on the Sony PlayStation Portable homebrew front recently. After configuring PSPIRC for 3.80/3.90 custom firmwares, dev zx81did the same to another homebrew project: PSPSSH.

Dev zx-81's PPSSSH is a homebrew application which lets you connect to your PC from far away. Once you have Wi-fi with you, you can use your PSP to access your PC remotely using commands and run scripts.

The previous build had improved character support. What are the changes for version 1.1.1? Foremost is the compatibility with the 3.80 or 3.90 custom firmwares. There are also some bug fixes for performance improvements. Here is the changelog straight from zx-81:

* Fix IR keyboard issue with fw >= 3.80 for FAT PSP
* It has been tested sucessufully tested on:
o SLIM 3.90-m33
o FAT 3.90-m33
o FAT 1.5 (addon for 3.90-m33)
* Increaze heap memory for fw3.x
* Code cleaning

Coder zx81 notes that PSPSS version 1.1.1 can be particularly useful for Linux users who would want to access their server from anywhere.

How is this possible? PSPSSH version 1.1.1 is based on a small SSH2 server and client. That SSH2 stands for Secure Shell, a network protocol that allows data to be exchanged between two computers. For credits and open-source license agreements, check the via link below. For the complete installation guide, check the readme which is in the file. Safety above all!

PSPSSH: SSH2 is a port of the version 0.48.1 to the PSP. This ssh client gives you a remote access to your PC (if you have a SSH server installed of course), and you can then enter commands and run scripts as if you were directly in front of your PC

PicoozIR  Have you heard of the Picoo Z toy helicopter model? Yes, that one with infrared capabilities. If you could recall from a few months back, developer pacopad turned the Sony PlayStation Portable into that toy's remote control with the homebrew app, picoozIR. Flying was a bit iffy then, but not anymore, thanks to picoozIR's version 4 and its new flying engine
