Coming Soon becomes Out Now! Art has finally posted his X-Flash V16, now with limited support for 2.71 SE-B. SE-B users rejoice! You can enjoy all the benefits of X-Flash V16 as you did with older firmware. Well, this official release contains the features (and disables) that Art had talked about in his Coming Soon post, plus a couple of new ones you should go check. We're posting the pertinent details Art has posted on his site for you to review.
New for X-Flash V16:
* Dual Firmware Support.
* The same program runs on 1.50 and 2.71 SE, and behaves accordingly after the PSP firmware version is auto detected at startup.
* Limited support is provided for 2.71 SE.
* Faster startup checking, and other small fixes.
Currently Supported for 2.71 SE:
* Disable Wave Effect (disables wave effect properly, so you don't even see it for that second while your wallpaper loads)
* Custom Monthly Backgrounds, including Plain Black Backgrounds.
* Custom Font (sample font included is now the ASCII font).
* Disable Network Update Icon functionality.
* Custom Name Plate picture (Easter Egg "Art" name plate is disabled in 2.71 SE since only basic pictures work).
* Firmware Dump (At least 21 Mb free space required for 2.71 SE).
* Registry Backup and Restore Tool.
* Custom Gameboots (Plain black gameboot doesn't currently work).
* Free Space game works. I may have to work on a new prize ;)
Currently Disabled for 2.71 SE:
* Debranded intro and gameboot screens (may get fixed).
* XMB Menu Label editor.
* Firmware Version Spoofers.
* Coldboot and XMB sounds (may be fixed in a later version).
* Plain Black PSP About Screens.
* Some Easter Eggs won't work because they rely on version spoofs, detailed name plate picture, etc.
Installation instructions and other information are provided in the included readme file. For your PSP's sake, please read the manual, so to speak, before you go about installing this new X-Flash in your handhelds.

pspThere is a hot-of-the-grill homebrew application in our forums right now. Homebrew developer Kando informed us that Team FWI (composed of himself, LordSturm, Birdman and JamesBDX) just came up with the first version of Gameboot Path Modifier. This release probably trace it roots from the 2.71 EBOOT. It does exactly what that eboot does

Devhook Devhook
A new day and a new version of Devhook awaits us. Firstly, a big reminder. This doesn't emulate firmware 2.80. Get that out of your mind. Secondly, about the news you've been reading on other sites, NO, 2.80 isn't decrypted, just extracted. Anyways, on with the update about Devhook.
The new version has a few major changes

For all firmware versions
Unzip the archive to your memory card so the files go in PSP/SAVEDATA/ULUS10041S0 if you're installing the US version, PSP/SAVEDATA/ULES00151S0 for the UK version. This replaces the first game save on the card.

CIntro Mod CIntro Mod
We so don't want to go through this over again but for purposes of discussion, CIntro is is a small introduction sequence attached to a cracked software. Now, the modifier is an eboot that runs pmfPlayer.prx to play any PMF file on startup if enabled through firmware
