It has only been a couple of days since our in-house Hacker / Coder / Forum Moderator extraordinaire, Fanjita, released the first homebrew game for 2.50 Firmware. Now he's taken the next step and accomplished the unthinkable, running homebrew on 2.60 Firmware! Thanks to his incredible efforts, it is now possible to play homebrew on your PSP no matter what firmware it has. This truly is a historic moment in the PSP Community, and we here at PSPUpdates are thrilled to bring you this exclusive release that you won't find anywhere else: Tetris on 2.60 Firmware.
Fanjita just keeps on crackin' Sony's efforts to keep us from our homebrew! He started with creating the first ever homebrew on firmware 2.00, then moved on to create his 2.0 eboot loader which enables about 85% of PSP homebrew to work on 2.00, then brought us GTA Hello World savegame binary loader which opened the doors to 2.01+ homebrew. Now today we are proud to release the first homebrew game on firmware 2.60! Be sure to stick with PSPupdates.qj.net for the latest and greatest PSP news!
From Readme:
- v2.6 support
- Better compatibility with 2.01 and 2.5
- Improved the game slightly - now faster, with speed increase as you fill more lines.
To install:
Unzip the contents of this package into the /psp/savedata folder on your memory stick. Note that if you have an existing savegame that uses slot 5, then this will be overwritten by the Tetris savegame.
To use:
Start up GTA as normal. When it has loaded, select "Load Game", select the Tetris savegame and confirm the load as normal. After a short delay, the Tetris game should start.
To quit the game, you will need to hold your power button for 10 seconds. The HOME button looks like it might work, but it doesn't, yet.

Pegs Pegs
If you owned a graphing calculator back in the 1990s, you probably know about some of the games that were made and played on them. Well, PlayStation Portable homebrew developer Judas loved one such game and cloned it to Sony's handheld. The game is called Pegs, originally coded by Fred Coughlin for the TI calculator
QQ Manto v0.5b QQ Manto v0.5b
When homebrew developer nataku92 first released Line Rider-inspired QQ Manto, it was warmly accepted by the community. Aside from borrowing gameplay elements from the Flash game, this creation is very reminiscent of Loco Roco sans the tilt function for the shoulder buttons
Mastermind Mastermind
No French jokes here, folks. Only a lot of gaming goodness. The French homebrew group known as Team 280 released their very own dual-language version of Mastermind for the PSP.
As with any game of Mastermind, your job is to figure out the hidden combination of colors by a process of trial and error. In Mastermind 1
Pick-O-Mania Pick-O-Mania
JustChris from our forums has just released his first homebrew game for the PSP called Pick-O-Mania. It may look a lot like Lumines to you, but the object of the game is slightly different from drop block and pop. I would liken it to games such as Bejewled in nature rather than Lumines, with the player having to eliminate adjacent blocks to earn points
Puzzle (by Fazerick) Puzzle (by Fazerick)
Puzzle by Fazerick:
Amazing how a Lua game could actually take so much time. Well, puzzle games tend to do that. And simple as the concept of this homebrew by Fazerick may be, it's one of the most classic puzzle games out there. Called "Puzzle" this homebrew involves a three-by-three grid of jumbled tiles
CubeMania v2.0 CubeMania v2.0
Homebrew dev Sand3r has updated CubeMania, another addicting homebrewed game that features three unique puzzle games with a twist.
Changelogs:
version 1.2.1
Hotfix to solve a Matrix issue where you could 'win' the game by filling the game board with empty-marked cubes.
version 1
PSP Rubik's Cube PSP Rubik's Cube is homebrew game for the PSP that simulates a Rubik's Cube. The Rubik's Cube is a 3D mechanical puzzle where each of the six faces is covered by stickers with solid colors. A pivot mechanism enables each face to turn independently, thus mixing up the colors. For the puzzle to be solved, each face must be a solid color
AntiTetris Homebrew games sporting physics engines seem to be the "in" thing nowadays, and we're certainly not complaining; with games like Drawing Box and Pocket Physics, we've seen how much fun we can glean from just seeing our objects tumble down on top of each other
Nanpure R5 1.0 Nanpure R5 1.0
Any Sudoku fans out there? EvilDooinz just released Nanpure Rev 5, which is a follow-up for his much-enjoyed Nanpure homebrew game. Given that the game's already pretty solid, he's added a couple of extras to the game's layout:
* Add 3 new modes to display icons, colors and patterns.
* Compiled images into eboot and loaded them from ram
