Homebrew developer ZiNgaBuRgA just updated pet application RCO Editor to version 1.13 and that's good news to members of the community who love to tinker with their PlayStation Portable's (PSP) localized resources or what are known as RCO files.
For those who are quite new to this, take note that your handheld has several RCO files stored in the "flash0:/vsh/resource" folder. These files may include icons, sounds, texts and others that are being used by the unit in the XMB. So, with RCO editor, you can actually change those to your liking and modify some page data.
Since the last release, only a little has changed with RCO Editor v1.13 but that is not to say that these modifications are not at all important. A few bugs have been wiped out and most noteworthy of all is the change in the way page resources are displayed. The Readme file, mind you, has also been updated to read that first.
According to ZiNgaBuRgA, the application should only be used with decrypted RCO files. Try to play smart with the program and you will see it crash or your semi-brick your PSP. Firmwares 2.50 and 2.60 are preferred but you might see some glitches. Take note that using a FW 2.50 "topmenu_plugin.rco" on FW3.1x will quite damaged your handheld.
Lastly, the coder notes that if you're not too certain with what you're doing, kindly backup your original flash0 resource files before flashing custom RCOs.
