Any puzzle entered on your PDA may be saved / reopened, and can be graded automatically according to its likely ease of completion. A color coded numbering system makes it easier to track your entries, once baseline grid has been completed. Set a baseline puzzle position, and newly added numbers appear in a different color. Load a range of tried and tested Sudoku puzzles (these are only solved by logical deduction and have only one possible solution) or use the puzzle creator to randomly seed a new puzzle. Randomly generated puzzles fall into one of 9 different difficulty levels. Puzzles that are 'hand-crafted' are often more popular, and dozens of these are provided (and available very inexpensively as puzzle packs if desired). Copy / paste / load / save puzzle positions. Experiment with the different algorithms included. The algorithms are all based on logic used to solve Sudoku manually, rather than a 'guess-and-check' approach. Use the software to highlight the boxes with two, three or four or more possible solutions. This is useful for the 'twin box' elimination technique that helps crack more fiendish puzzles. Those wishing just to complete dozens of puzzles by human brainpower alone will not be disappointed. Use Pocket Sudoku Solver to just get on and solve puzzles on your own. Apply pencil marks to each box. Simple hints for a single box are available. Use the software to check if a given grid is a valid puzzle. A variety of algorithms are implemented (more on the way!) including a version of the 'slice and dice' algorithm, and simple elimination techniques. More sophisticated techniques examine each 3 by 3 box for single possibilities.
