Think about it for a moment. It is true that people do use computers successfully as memory aids. They use calendar programs, address books, note taking programs; many of us archive our emails and retrieve them later. These are powerful extensions to human memory. However, it is still the case that people are limited by their weak memories and older adults by their declining memories. What keeps computer memory from being even more helpful?
