InClass for HanDBase - Integrated set of DBs to track and manage students while in class. Includes student info, contacts, attendance/tardies (auto date/time stamp, excused/unexcused checkbox), book/workbook info (date in/out, condition, no.), "positive" contact manager, good things (click to give those bonus points), discipline (w/auto date/time stamp, offense, notes, disposition), homework. Many popups, fully customizable. This is NOT intended to be a full gradebook program, but rather to replace that awful pile of scraps of paper I used to end up with (and often lose) in my pockets at the end of the day.
Filter by period when starting a class; filter by pop-ups to report on the "un" things (unfinished HW, unexcused absences, unreturned books...)
Sort by random numbers (you can easily add truly random numbers to the five random fields included using Excel or by hand) to call on students in "random" order; five sets should be enough to keep them guessing!
Use "export" to instantly transfer data to MemoPad -- lists of missing things, discipline and warnings, etc. (great for conferences) Very powerful when combined with filtering by student or period.
I'm thinking primarily of high school -- I'm a foreign language teacher, so you may want to edit some pop-up "offenses" like "use of native language in class"...! Comes with sample data for 6 students in 2 class periods; will need to be deleted.
