The main characters of the second part are the same young hacker whose name is Lan and so called PET, a personal terminal called NetNavi. It is a special program which is built in PET device. It is used to destroy viruses and fight against other NetNevi, which can be found in hyperspace and also in other different devices. The action of this game starts soon after the events of the first part finished. Lan has special trainings now to become an official NetBattler, one of those, who uses their NetNevis to struggle against different cybernetic crimes and viruses.
