EVDash is a Palm OS application that acts as a set of dash board gauges for electric vehicles. It displays battery pack voltage, amps being drawn from the battery pack, and two different estimates of remaining battery capacity. It works with Xantrex's Link 10, formerly called the E-Meter. Just plug the Palm device into the E-Meter, preferably through an optical isolator to protect the Palm device and start the EVDash program.

- Voltage - Battery pack voltage.
- Amps - Amps being drawn from or put back into the battery pack.
- Capacity based on voltage - Capacity calculated from the pack voltage under very low load. Voltage drops off as pack capacity drops.
- Capacity based on amps - Capacity calculated from the amps drawn integrated over time compared to the pack capacity. The peukert effect is taken into account.

Once you install the EVDash.prc on the Palm pull down the menu and go to the setup window. Enter the pack capacity and the Peukerts constant. The state of charge voltages should be determined experimentally by recording the voltages as the battery pack is completely discharged.

To transfer ASCII data from your Palm, use the standard Hot sync cable and a terminal program. Set the following communications information:

Baud rate: 9600
Data bits: 8
Parity: none
Stop bits: 1
Flow control: hardware

What's New in This Release:

· Complete re-work of most of the application.

DTFH - Date Time Format HackDTFH - Date Time Format Hack
DTFH - Date Time Format Hack - This hack influences the way some system functions format date and time strings. As for now it just encforces leading zeros to be added to dates (month and day mainly) whenever its value would otherwise occupy just one digit (values less than 10). So instead of 96/1/9 you will see 96/01/09 as long as the hack is active
FindHackFindHack
FindHack is a replacement for the Palm OS Find function. It is compatible with handhelds based on Palm OS 3.3 to Palm OS 5. Version 4.0 is a complete rewrite and works on Palm OS 3.3 through 5. Its powerful features make it an essential utility for everyday use

One Click ClippingOne Click Clipping
One Click Clipping is a small enhancement to Palm Query Application technology. A normal Palm Query Application (PQA) requires some sort of user interaction before the clipping is served. This interaction can be as advanced as filling out a form to as simple as clicking one link. This last case is a click too much - One Click Clipping addresses this
