StudyBuddy is a free two-part application (one for a PC and one for an Android mobile phone) that allows students to organize and back up their notes.
Why is StudyBuddy needed?
A lot of students have all their coursework, lecture slides, and course texts stored on their computer. This leaves hand written notes on paper to be filed separately and so often results in notes being lost. StudyBuddy solves this problem by allowing hand written and printed notes to be stored and backed up on the computer. Board notes can also be photographed in a lecture and so lecture notes don't even need to be taken. This is especially useful for students with learning difficulties and gives a clear advantage over using an audio recording device, as notes cannot be skimmed through.
What can StudyBuddy do?
The PC application allows images to be imported from both the mobile phone application and the user's computer. This gives students the flexibility to store all their notes in one place. The Android application allows notes to be photographed, tagged, and sent to the PC application via Bluetooth.
Once the images have been imported, they can be rotated, enhanced, annotated, tagged, and linked to other images. There are also a number of features built in to enable the user to view images easily including zoom, slideshow, drag with mouse, quick browse using thumbnails, and a search by tag feature.
