!Aspire - All graphics were meticulously created in-house and specifically optimized for BlackBerry Smartphones. Each device's Home Screen was custom-coded separately to achieve the “best of both worlds:” a simple, clean interface and innovative, user-friendly functionality that is second to none. Designed with speed in mind, we minimized coding and animations to make Aspire fast and effective for the casual to active Blackberry user.
Touchscreen:
Users control which of three five-icon customizable docks is displayed by clicking to the right of the clock (users can see which dock they are displaying by looking for which of three dots on the top, right-hand corner of the Home Screen has turned from grey to white). Clicking the “X” on the bottom, right-hand corner of the Home Screen makes the dock function vanish; the dock is replaced by a small picture of four squares, selectable to make the dock feature reappear.
A user-controlled Today is opened and closed by the pop-up button in the bottom left-hand corner.
All indicators double as buttons which open the intuitively-corresponding program, i.e.., time opens Clock, date opens Calendar, signal meter opens Manage Connections and notification area opens Messages.
Rounding out the hyper-functionality of the Aspire Home Screen is the 'nine squares' button in the bottom center; click this to reach the Application screen.
TrackPad/TrackBall:
Users scroll up and down to reveal 12-15 icons (exact number depends on device) on the sliding dock (users can see where they are in the icon set by referencing the position of the white dot on the scroll bar to the left).
By scrolling up past the dock, users reveal an innovative, hidden shortcut dock with buttons for Options, Contacts, Clock and Manage Connections.
A user-controlled Today is opened by pressing the “space” bar and closed by pressing the “back” button (Pearl 9100 users use the dedicated pop-up button in the bottom, right-hand corner).
***Notes***
The Torch has a landscape HomeScreen while the Storm does not, this is due to the Storms lower performance.
Devices with an OS lower the 5.0 will notice some differences to the screenshots. This is because those OS's do not support all of the features we implemented. The differences are minor, and mostly positioning or small graphical changes.
