  Universal Module Installer R2

Talking to Coldbird the other day, he told me that he wasn't happy with the way Cpasjuste's overclock mod worked. The fact that it simply overwrote your module loading file meant that if you had installed any other mods, they wouldn't work. He revealed that he was working on a module installer which would flash modules safely and non-destructively.

And today, he has just released the first version of his Universal Module Installer for Dark AleX's 2.71 SE firmwares. While the installer itself is a great piece of work, there are a few things which will probably be included in the next version. Currently, it's still very easy to install the modules you want. Only thing is, you have to read the readme file thoroughly, something which isn't done much.

As always, the readme file mentions the correct usage of the installer. In case you can't figure out how to do this, you can either wait for the other programmers to package their mods with this installer, or pester them to do it. Like we said before, the installer modifies the module loading file non-destructively, so your earlier mods will still work after you install a new mod. Have fun, and if you need help with it, you can check out our forum thread using the link below.

Update: Coldbird has just released an updated version of his Universal Module Installer, R2. Below, you can find the changelog download for the updated version.

Changelog for R2:

* Added my own Credits and secured them (to stop Hex-Editors...)
* Added two new Options to Configuration File (Projectname and Author)
* Recoded my Comparation Core (Windows will no longer trouble you with its damn Upper and Lower-Case Problems)
* Improved Module Loading List Management
* Refined the Error Handling (You no longer will get a Message like 'Something is wrong... fix it!' - but more like... 'This happened - Do that!')
