version 0.02 is still in very early build stages, but if you're looking for a Wii-native media player for your video files, this would probably be your first pick. Not only does this Wii port of MPlayer already have decoder support in place for six formats, it can also read these video formats from eight different movie file types.
Homebrew developer rOn's (aka fcorbier) latest release patches some of the bugs from the first release of MPlayerWii, and now it incorporates svenp's libfat library for faster reading from the SD card.
In addition, the player's audio engine has been optimized for better playback, and there's a in-control pause button (button [A]). Other changes include:
* disabled MPlayer's error/status text during video playback
* file list now displays 20 files instead of 10
Time to let loose the juice then, people! But be reminded that the version 0.02's code is still early (being as it was just ported over to the Wii by Christophe Thibault), and it may exhibit hitches with certain movie files.
Also, you must have Homebrew Channel installed for this application to work - nothing like an in-house homebrew launcher to handle the menial tasks for you anyway.
