The latest build for the Homebrew Channel for the Wii is at Beta 8, and Team Twiizer's update has made the HBC installer a bit more proactive in determining the status of your Nintendo Wii's System Menu. It also sports faster CD card reading performance, and many other improvements have been noted in the Homebrew Channel's changelog:
* you don't need to eject your memcards anymore
* switched from IOS35 to IOS21, this makes the hbc usable on older firmwares
* improved some translations
* the IP label isn't cut off anymore
* fixed argv support when loading SD apps
* fixed a minor wiiload issue
* the SD app entries are now sorted alphabetically
* wiimote rumble support
Now while it addresses the hiccups some users may have from loading off of the WiiLoad homebrew loading utility, take note that upon update HBC Beta 8 may rearrange your homebrew collection. If you've painstakingly organized your SD card contents according to your tastes, this update might throw out all that hard work in a heartbeat. You are forewarned.
Now for folks who have boot capable Nintendo Wiis and would rather install a brand new Homebrew Channel without toying with the Twilight Hack, you're free to use the ISO versions of HBC Beta 8 auto-installers. Just make sure to download and burn the right version according to your Wii's hardcoded region, boot the disc up, and watch it make miracles.
As with the previous releases, a separate archive for the bundled Wii HBC applications is provided for those who are extremely picky about their collections. Just make sure to read the procedures for installing HBC Beta 8 if you're braving the Twilight Hack route (latest Twilight Hack build here). With that said, enjoy!
This is the archive of the bundled applications.
