It's safe to say development of the Linux operating system's port to the Nintendo Wii by Albert "isobel" Herranz and his crew is proceeding smoothly. The latest version of the Wii-Linux Proof of Concept is sure to make many homebrew enthusiasts happy, as it introduces a feature some users have been clamoring for upon reaching version 0.4.
Wii-Linux PoC v0.4 now supports USB keyboards, which takes nil usefulness up a notch. Here's what developers had to say:
Another baby step has been taken to bring Linux on the Wii to a more useable form. This time we have added support for USB keyboards through the IOS keyboard interface available since IOS version 30.
As usual, keep in mind that Wii-Linux PoC is for Wii owners who are familiar with homebrew on the white hot console. Even if you know how to load other 'brews, don't forget to check out this one's Readme file for safer installation.
