We've already had a script that enables people to use the Wiimote in conjunction with the PC, but how about a program that allows users to use the Wiimote (and some of the other Wii controllers) with a Linux unit? Well, we've just found a device driver that does just that, and it's called XWii v2.0.
As the XWii website states, the XWii driver "is a program that translates input from the Nintendo Wii Remote into X11 input (such as keyboard events and mouse movements)." Currently, it lets users fiddle around on Linux with the Wiimote and the Classic Controller, and will eventually allow for Nunchuk use as well.
Folks who want to try this application out should remember to have Linux with X11 on it and a Linux-compatible bluetooth dongle in addition to a WIimote and a copy of the driver. For information on installing and using the driver though, we suggest you visit the source link though. That being said, enjoy the XWii, Linux users!
