mini-POS is a point of sales terminal intended for the small vendor. It allows quick order taking and price calculations. All transactions can be filed in a standard Palm memo (POSfile) as a comma delimited file which can later be loaded into a spreadsheet for record keeping. mini-POS requires a memo file which provides the labels and prices for up to ten products. It should have "POSlabels" (without the quote marks) as the first line. The second line should be the product name for the first button. Third line should be the price, including tax, for the first product. Following lines should continue with a label line followed by the price until all 10 buttons are defined. After finishing the POSlabels memo you can launch mini-POS. press the CLEAR button to update the key labels. When you have entered an order, tap FILE to save the transaction. If it is the first transaction mini-POS will create the memo POSfile and store the data. Subsequent transactions will be added to the POSfile memo each time FILE is tapped. To view the sales data in a spreadsheet, hotsync your Palm and copy the POSfile memo from your Palm Desktop and paste it into a text file. Load the text file into your spreadsheet as a comma delimited file. Delete the POSfile memo from your Palm and you're ready for the next day.
