BrightTools is an application that controls the brightness of the screen. To achieve this it has three different tools that controls the LCD brightness value: scheduled brightness change, popup dialog box and external power connection.
The Scheduled brightness tool changes the brightness of the screen according to a profile of hourly brightness values. For example: during the darkness hours, the brightness of the screen can be set to its lowest value, therefore stopping you from being dazzled by the brightness of the screen.
The Popup dialog box is a tool that can be launched from any application (rather like the standard brightness control dialog box that is supplied with PalmOS). This tool has 4 larger buttons that provide the user with quick preset values to set the brightness to. A standard slider controls is also supplied for a more precise control over the brightness level.
The External Power detection tool is used to change the brightness of the screen (i.e. the screens maximum) when the device is connected to an external power source. When the power source is removed, the screen will return back to the original un-powered value.

Zire71 BackLightOff Zire71 BackLightOff - allows you to toggle the backlight of your Zire 71. In order to reactivate backlight relaunch the app or simply adjust brightness as usual.

BrightCam BrightCam sets the brightness of the Treo600 screen and the keyboard backlight depending on the light levels measured from the camera.
How to configure BrightCam?
The light levels measured by the camera may change depending on the camera type of your Treo600. BrightCam remembers the biggest and the lowest values received by the camera to adjust the brightness properly

Tk Torch Tk Torch - Do you find yourself using your smartphone or PDA as a torch? This little application utilizes the entire screen for maximum brightness and lets you choose how long to keep the backlight on, over-riding the built in limit of 3 minutes auto off
Lightswitch for Palm Lightswitch for Palm is a software control for switching the backlight off and on.
This is faster and easier than holding down the power button.
For PDA's not fitted with a backlight, it lets you adjust the brightness.
