Gaxian Spheroids contains six games based on the same concept. Player is to control balls that fly inside a 3D trunk, bouncing off the walls and colliding with each other. Depending on the game, balls are either controlled by dragging them with the stylus, or by specifying a target zone and applying force to them.
To successfully play the games, the player must have good space imagination, as the ability to predict three-dimensional ball movement paths, affected by bouncing off the walls and ball collisions, is the key factor in Gaxian Spheroids.
Bonuses can be picked in all games by hitting bonus cells (outlined with red or green lines). Red (harmful) bonuses will jump to the left tray and take effect immediately. Green bonuses will jump to the right tray and will not take effect until you activate them. Tap a bonus in the right tray to use it.
You have to light off all cells in the trunk. Hitting each lit cell will bring you some points (5-15, depending on the cell). Avoid hitting already unlit cells, as this will light them again and you will lose some life and points. Collected points also decrease with time, so you have to hurry up. Neutral cells (orange) can be hit without any life/points loss.Juggle the balls as long as you can, avoiding any ball collisions. With every collision, you lose some life. The game is started with one ball, new balls are added as the game goes. Balls can be killed with annihilator bonuses, so collect as many of them as you can to prolong your game. Points are collected with every cell hit (5-15, depending on the cell).
Pair as many balls as you can. Only balls of the same color can be paired, colliding balls of different colors will take some of your life. Points are earned with every coupling. Points are lost with every wall hit, so try to pair the balls as fast as you can to maximize your score!
Light off all cells using least possible shots. To make a shot, you have to place the cue-ball target (green square) on any wall, set power of your shot and tap "Go" button. Lit cells become unlit when you hit them with object balls or with the cue ball, but only after it touches at least one object ball (and changes the color). Points are earned with every correct hit and deducted with every wrong hit (when hitting an already unlit cell). Two points are also deducted with every shot, so try to make least possible shots, avoid hitting already unlit cells and utilize as many balls as you can to maximize the score.
To win the game, you must occupy more cells than your opponent. A cell is occupied when it is hit with an object ball or with the cue ball, but only after it touches at least one object ball (and changes the color). Shots are made in turns, the game ends when all cells are occupied or when one player occupies more than half of all cells.
To win the game, do not rush to grab as many cells as you can, rather develop and follow a strategy to finish the game with more points than your opponent. There are 2 balls in the game, one for each player. Each player makes shots with an own ball. Each cell is priced 5-15 points. Each player starts with 500-2000 points (depending on the selected trunk size). When a neutral cell is hit with a ball, the owner of the ball (regardless of who made the shot) gets the cell and pays the price (cell points are deducted from the player). When an occupied cell is hit with its owner''s ball, no points are added/deducted. However, if an occupied cell is hit with opponent''s ball, the opponent pays the cell price to the cell owner. Game is finished when all cells are occupied. Player, who has more points at the end of the game, wins.
