Most of the recipes in this guide take less than 20 minutes to prepare, are affordable, flexible, and contain a wide variety of foods.
Also included in this guide are two weeks of sample menus for a family of four, and two weeks of shopping lists that will allow you to navigate your supermarket's aisles, while stocking up on healthy, reasonably-priced ingredients, and avoiding high fat, high calorie convenience foods.
This guide also contains a list of anti-inflamatory "superfoods", which combat the body's resistance to the hormone leptin. Leptin resistance disrupts the body's ability to regulate appetite and metabolism. Also included is up-to-the-minute information on trans fat, including an example of the new Nutrition Facts label displaying trans fat content. These new labels were mandated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration beginning Jan. 1, 2006 for all foods containing trans fat, which has been directly linked to heart disease.
To read the 2006 Healthy Recipe Guide on your Pocket PC, you must first have Microsoft Reader installed. If you don't already have it, check your Pocket PC's web site or go to the Microsoft Reader web site to download a free copy. Then, use your Microsoft desktop software to install the guide to your Pocket PC, start Microsoft Reader and click Library. It's that easy!
