LightHack - A neat feature of the Palm IIIx and Palm V: when the backlight is activated, the dark pixels light up instead of the background. LightHack provides a similar feature for the Palm III (and older Palm devices with backlights) -- whenever the backlight is activated, the screen is inverted so that the text lights up, and the background stays dark
Lightswitch for Palm is a software control for switching the backlight off and on.
This is faster and easier than holding down the power button.
For PDA's not fitted with a backlight, it lets you adjust the brightness.
What's New in This Release:
· Explicit turn backlight on ond off buttons
· Show backlight status, whether off or on
Mirror - Turns your Palm screen completely black, creating a reflective surface. Great for watching over your shoulder or making sure your hair looks okay. Convenient when a real mirror isn't available. And it beats fussing with the contrast controls
Mirror+ turns the whole screen black, unlike other programs, and takes up just 2kb of space.
Run the program and your Palm or Visor will become an effective mirror, great for checking your teeth or fixing your hair before that big date
Mirror/Torch+ is a simple app that displays the entire screen black to show a reflection of yourself or it can be used as a "torch" to find items when it's dark and you have no light!
MirrorPro is another Mirror application for PalmOS.
It combines several featuresthat are unlikely to be found (at least not together) in other implementations:
It's freeware
Multi Backlight Hack - With Multi Backlight Hack you can now turn on/off the backlight, invert the backlight and still access the contrast panel, all from one button.
What's New in This Release:
· Added the option to have the screen invert when you hit the contrast button to active the backlight
No Streak Hack - Some Palm IIIx displays have the 'streaking' problem. They tend to extend vertical lines (can be seen in the datebook month view) . Sometimes this can be adjusted by reducing the contrast using the contrast adjustment wheel.
This problem can sometimes be solved with software by changing the display refresh frequency. The PalmOS 3.1
