DSO is a freeware astronomical program for Palm OS devices that should help to plan observations of deep sky objects.
The program allows to search for objects in the NGC/IC database by the object:
Minimum dimension
Availability (i.e. its altitude at the particular time and location should be above some minimum)
Type (galaxy, globular cluster, nebula etc.)
Visibility (log(C0/C)) in particular telescope according to the visibility concept developed by Jose Torres or maximum magnitude
You could also limit search to Messier, Caldwell or Hershell 400 objects.
Features
Performs search of NGC/IC objects to be observed
Performs search of closeby NGC/IC objects in the vicinity of a specified one
Exports search results directly to Planetarium
Calculates visibility for any object and graph the result
Creates an observation plan
Locates the object for equatorial mounts in 'manual go to' style by calculating the number of turns of RA and DEC handles from some star or other DSO
Views other people observation logs (in Russian, from www.astronomy.ru

2004 Meteor Shower Database 2004 Meteor Shower Database - This is a database of 2004 meteor showers, including: name of the shower, date range, date at which the shower peaks, the maximum rate per hour, and the radiant.
For observation, the higher ZHR (Zenithal Hourly Rate), the better (more meteors).
Maximum dates in parentheses indicate reference dates for the radiant, not true maxima

Navigate Navigate is a Palm OS program for computing the range and bearing between any two points on the Earth's surface OR the end location given a starting location, range and bearing.
It will compute these solutions for either lines of constant bearing (loxodromes or rhumb lines) or the shortest possible path on the Earth (geodesics or great circle routes)
astrolib astrolib - The astrolib library calculates planetary positions and timezones.
Positions of sun, moon and planets up to Pluto are calculated with an accuracy of the order of one arc minute for dates less than a century away from now. Calculations are based on approximation formulae by Paul Schlyter, which are in turn based on a preprint of a paper by T. van Flandern and K
Phoon Phoon- graphically displays the phase of the moon (either near or far side), along with additional phase, time, and holiday information
Night Sky Night Sky is an application that is designed to help backyard astronomers, teachers, parents and any one else learn about the 88 constellations and their major stars. A simple user interface allows users to quickly display any of the constellations and a single tap further identifies any displayed star
SunFly SunFly - allows computation of sunrise and sunset observed from an aircraft.
With SunFly, mainly an application for aviators, you can exactly predict not only time but also the position of sunrise or sunset.
Insert two waypoints with its coordinates and the respective estimated time over (ETO), the flight level and SunFly does the rest
