GPS4PPC is an open source application, written with Basic4ppc that includes a set of tools for navigation and GPS data.
GPS4PPC supports:
- Converting coordinates between UTM and Lat / Lon.
- Converting coordinates in different datums.
- Calculating the distance and course between two coordinates.
- Show GPS data.
- Animated compass
GPSAltimeterer uses the GPS on your PocketPC to find your altitude. You can view in Meters or Feet. This can be used on a plane that does not allow full GPS. Start the program to find your height via GPS on it. NOTE: Make sure you are allowed to use this program before starting the application
GPSChannels can help you to get a better understanding of the best places to place your unit when trying to get a GPS fix. Start the program and it will display the NMEA logs and the total number of viewable satellites. You can also save the NMEA logs to a file
GPSDisplayer is and educational tool that displays the NMEA data that comes from your GPS unit in your device. Select the program port for your GPS and tap the start button to view the NMEA logs from your GPS. The program displays the data on viewable list
GPSEmailer uses the GPS on your PocketPC to find your latitude/longitude/altitude and speed and creates a blank Email template. When the program gets its first lock then it creates an email with your GPS update location and a link to the Google.com mobile online street map
GPSEphemeris uses the GPS on your PocketPC to download the hourly Ephemeris file from the GPS network. You can use this before you start other GPS applications to get a quicker GPS lock. NOTE: The ephemeris file expires after about 1 hour
GPSGoogler uses the GPS on your PocketPC to find the 50 closest local businesses from 2,238 type of Yellow Pages entry sorted via GPS distance. Tap the button to start the GPS and when you get a lock tap on it to view the list of local businesses. The GPS maps and business search service is provided by Google
GPSLocaterer uses the GPS on your PocketPC to find your current latitude/longitude/speed and altitude and allows you to view your position on a map from the Google.com maps service. You can customize the maps zoom, and type via the 'Options' in the toolbar
GPSLockerer keeps your GPS in your device active. When you tap the button the program will start the GPS and download the GPS data for your area. The program keeps the GPS active to allow for quicker fixes when you use another GPS program
GPSLoggerer logs and displays the data that comes from your GPS unit in your device in NMEA sentences. You can select the output to a NMEA extension or or text file extension. When you select save all logs after the save will be saved to the file. When you select close the logging will stop
