It works just like the official theme creator Sony dished out, which means it's still as convenient
XMB Colorer
Maku has come out with the XMB Colorer, an application which allows users to create custom backgrounds on their PSP Phat using the expanded Silm & Light color palate.
The application is great for PSP Phat users who wish to use the newer color schemes in the PSP Lite. Using the application is easy, and shouldn't give users any problems
PNG for PTF
Homebrew developer akadewboy has just released PNG for PTF v1.0. This application allows users to convert 24-bit PNG files into 256 color 8-bit PNGs. This should prove to be useful for those who use Sony's Custom Theme Converter since the application has strict rules on what PNG files can be used to create PTF themes

Right on the heels of the release of Sony's newest official firmware for the PlayStation Portable is this little treat: Sony's Custom Theme Converter for the PSP. The latest revision of the theme converter is now at version 1.2 and it's made especially for PSP firmware version 3.80
