3D World Toolset This download contains a User Guide, Game Demo, and the 3D exporter & map editor
Wow, I just played some ThrottleX (3D PSP Homebrew Game) in an attempt to beat the game and make my own maps, but low and behold - the NDS is very capable of doing the same thing! I was surprised when I saw this as it reminded me a lot of ThrottleX in the 3D textures, but I was even more engulfed when I found both a 3D demo and a model exporter (along with map creator for the demo). The creator, Kung-Fu Fetus, had no plans of taking his creation this far, but I'm glad he did!
This was very impressive in various ways - first of all, the 3D modeling is well documented in a PDF user guide, something of which I could pick up and start creating something of my own (with 0% C++ coding experience besides a Hello World + Calculator). Even without C++ knowledge, this is a very impressive user guide, and picking up the demo game provided just blew me away even more.
The car could use several improvements, but it is only to demonstrate the 3D modeling, and a good job it did! You can easily switch out of the "behind car" view and change to a classic "overhead" view of the car & world. There are trees and even exploding barrels (what's a game without these?). You can read the full documentation, play the demo, and fidle with the 3D engine at the press of a few buttons.
